David Wolske offered to be host and instructor of the 4th annual STA Wood Type Workshop event at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. His theme: “Sea Dragons & Monsters”, based on the idea that experimental wood type and printing might appear unfamiliar, scary and uncharted, but could actually be exhilarating and mind-expanding.
I had a printed piece that been wiped with ink from cleaning palette knives, and when turned upside down and cropped, it gave sea-dragon-thru-inky-waters vibes. I paired with David’s own image of a booklet created from wood type prints, and created the poster for that season’s workshop.
