Still Using Our Brains

Glencoe Grand Prix

My close friend Jay Mirasol invited me to volunteer with him as he photographed the Glencoe Grand Prix race weekend. I started volunteering in 2009 and did so annually for the next eight years, through the final race weekend in 2016.

In 2010, founder Jon Knouse invited me to give their logo a refresh, and design materials that would give the Glencoe Educational Foundation a more professional image for fundraising and sponsor drive meetings, and to carry the style forward for materials and signage used in promotion and service of the race.

I developed stationery and leave-behind sheets, a slideshow presentation, sponsorshop ads, and promotional poster for shop windows around town. Created street, race, and course maps and guidance sheets, created the winners podium backdrop, designed tees for a couple years, and, as mentioned, photographed and documented the race and events for eight years.

A photo book was assembled to document the 2009 race, and many of my race day images are included.
